With early track dating to 2004, Sleeping Buddha discards many of the broad and experimental features of Lost Souls Dystopia and focuses on a more stripped down post-rock sound. With few exceptions, most of the album consists of guitar and bass recorded with a Lexicon Omega interface and well as Cubase and other software. Influenced by bands such as Neurosis, Tides, Russian Circles, Singbonger and Lantern, the album is more sonically focused.
The conceptual elements of the album are drawn from the human sleep cycle, as well as mythology and psychology surrounding it and of dreaming. The title is in reference to the death of the Buddha.
